BUILDING CONFIDENCE
BUILDING COMMUNITY
C.O.N.C.R.E.T.E. Change was created by General Contractor and Entreprenuer Monique Adams to introduce children in the Los Angeles area to the field of construction as a career. Participants are exposed to a career path that allows them to provide for their families while contributing to the growth and development of the community.
The goal is for participants to walk away motivated with high self-esteem, a strong foundation and working knowledge of how they can excel in the construction industry.
BUILD IT PROGRAM
The objective of our Build It program is to provide long term solutions for economic self-sufficiency and community empowerment by providing educational and construction training opportunities for at-risk transitional age youth (16-24 years old) in nontraditional settings.
Services will include tutoring, career counseling, job readiness, life coaching, mentoring, peer support, educational planning, and construction and build trade certifications.
These opportunities will give the students some on the job-training in construction and allow for them to give back to their communities with the skills they acquire. The Build It program that gives our youth an opportunity to be creative by building and designing useful objects.
OUR COMMUNITY
Millions of teens today are at-risk from surrounding gang influence, drugs and academic failure. Statistics show that over 46% of youth under the age of 18 are under the influence of drugs and alcohol and have no positive influence in their lives.
The dropout rate has decreased about 27% since 2012, but that still leaves approximately 750,000 students who drop out each year. Students would benefit from having a program available to them in their community that offers the training and support they need to succeed.

MENTORSHIP
C.O.N.C.R.E.T.E. CHANGE will mentor students using a hands-on approach to provide the guidance and support that each student needs. This program is intended to help mold young minds and create a dependable environment that will promote growth and encourage success.
Mentoring at risk youth is proven to create healthier relationships and better attitudes. By building youth up one at a time, they will begin to make more positive lifestyle choices. That can be directly linked to higher educational aspirations, and improve interpersonal skills both at home and at school.
C.O.N.C.R.E.T.E. CHANGE is proud to serve as a fiscal sponsor to the Los Angeles Legends Football Team.
The L.A. based, all women, full-tackle, 11 on 11, NCAA rule style of play, minority-woman owned team is part of the Women's National Football Conference where our collective mission is to foster an environment for female athletes to sustain healthy lifestyles through playing, coaching and participating in American Football at the highest level.
Athletes from the Legends serve as C.O.N.C.R.E.T.E. CHANGE Mentors and Volunteers. We are thankful for the relationship, and hope to continue to foster growth and equality for women in the sport of football AND provide girls with another representation of themselves doing things they may have never thought were possible, like construction.
